I read about a system in another forum and I believe its the same thing.  You won't like it.  It cuts out your gps antenna and speed sense.  Yeah, you get video in motion, but no navigation = sucky sucky.

I don't know about that. I can't see incorporating two relays and a toggle switch if you're going to do that. Maybe just two toggle switches (one for GPS, one for speed pulse). Unless the relays would be to cycle the GPS and speed pulse signals on and off instead of the ground.

the relays are just to ground the parking and cut off signal to the speed pulse, the nav function will not work properly when the speed cut is not active, but the dvd will play fine. i guess you only have one or the other anyway, but not the case on the z1.

Pioneer nav systems don't require you to hook up the speed pulse at all so you wouldn't even need a relay for that.  Will be less accurate for the first few miles while it calibrates and then it will work perfectly.  I assume the relays are for parking brake and interupting the GPS antenna signal momentarily

OK, here is what I will be trying. You know how if you press the parking brake while in motion it waits about 3 seconds and disables the video/nav? Well what I am thinking is building a pulse with modulator that will pull the parking brake to ground and release it at a adjustable rate. Maybe I can fool it into thinking that the brake was release and reapplied and then released again before the screen reactivates. Like I say... it will be couple of days before I can test this. I ordered the parts today for the circuit.

Thanks for putting my idea to the test Datwo. I have no clue right now how to put something together to make this work. What exactly did you come up with?
