Ok, just a questions about the amp. The one you have recommended is a mono which to my understanding means it only has 1 channel. Is it possible to run 2 subs off of this amp or would I have to get 2 of them?

The amp is 2 ohm stable and you can hook up as many subs as you want as long as you don't go below 2 ohms the amp will supply power to the subs. The Kenwood link you gave me is also a Class D monoblock amp which is 2 ohm stable. The only diff is the Kenwood has more power output than the Pioneer amp.

My cousin has the 2500watt ten in a ported enclosure with only a 240 watt amp running it and the sub bangs pretty good.

Ok well i have narrowed it down to 2 different amps and it is the KAC-9152D or the KAC-7252.  I am planning on getting 2 of either THESE ( KFC-W3514DVC ) or 2 of THESE (KFC-XW1202DVC) What do you think would be the best combination?

Also I am planning on going with one of these 2 head units. Either the DPX501 or the KDC-MP732. If you have any opinions on either one of these I would love to hear it. Thanks.

Maybe it's just me, but the thought of buying a Kenwood sub scares me. I've seen their amps in action, and they don't seem too be bad - they get the job done. Howeber, I've also had first hand experience with Pioneer amps, and feel that they're higher quality. But the subs? Maybe someone with more first hand experience could chirp in here? I've never thought of Kenwood subs being in the same group as even Pioneer.

I have a had good luck with pioneer subs. They seem pretty tough and sound decent, not an spl sub but for what they retail for they are pretty good. Never monkeyed with kenwood stuff much had 1 kenwood amp fry once. I have installed quite a few of the pioneer amps though no problems with recent models to date.

Hehe thanks for the input. Ok well since you all have had much more experience than me ive got a task for you. With these 2 brands Kenwood and Pioneer, come up with a Low, Medium, and High level combination of Subs and Amps that you think work best together. Low should be lowest cost while still sounding decent, Medium should be the mid-ranged cost with a good sound quality, and High should be the expensive items that sound out of this world.

Just a suggestion but it would really help me on the search for the right system for my vehicle. Thanks for everyone input on the subject!

It'd be a lot easier if you gave us an idea of your budget, and we could give you some suggestions.

Thats a decent budget you should be able to get  2 dvc pioneers with a mono block amp installed. Check out your electrical system, the big three I don't think you'll need a huge alternator but I would make sure its in good shape as well as the battery. If those are in decent shape, sound deaden your trunk you'll be happy as your system will sound better.

I have a 2001 Impala. I wasnt thinking that I would need to upgrade the big 3 or the alternator but im not sure. I will probably be getting a 1800watt mono block amp. Do you think that would call for an upgrade of the big 3 or the alternator?
