I'm going to be putting in a Compustar 2W900FM-S and I have been trying to find out what will all be required for the install. From other posts in this forum I have found out that I will need a DEI 556LW for the passlock. My questions are:
Will I need any other interfaces?
Will a DEI 556L work instead of a 556LW?

556L & 556LW are the exact same part... for this vehicle i would use the PLJX... much easier to program and works great...

this vehicle is very simple, and you can do it with no 556l, thats the problem with todays installers and help guides everyone wants modules to do everything so they dont have to think or hardwire! LOL
using 2 relays in place of the 556l is simple and more cost effective ( unless you get paid piece meal) then by all means use the wuickest easiest way

I thought you only needed one relay and a resistor for passlock II?

the 555L and the 556L re not the same, the 556L does all the new gm passlock as well as the older models, you cannot use the 555L on the canyon and colorado's the install is a little different, almost like passlock 1 but not quite
canada's cold eh.

i had the wire diagram on here yesterday, why did it disappear?
anyway, this truck is not a simple passlock system car auddio, like a lot of new gms this vehicle has 2 wires that do 2nd ignition, keysense, as well as passlock most guys want they easiest way out, but if your a small independent owner you want to save cost anyway you can therefore 2 realys is much less expensive than a 556lw. like i said before though if your paid by the car, of course use the quicker method! start car with key, cut WHITE/ blk(or WHITE/ yellow)with meter measure resisitance betwen key side of WHITE/ blk and uncut white(or WHITE/ blue) while cranking key(car has anti grind so no worries)then with 2 relays as follows
relay#1
pin 85 to ground when running
pin 86 to ign with a diode (stripe facing relay)
pin 87a to key side of cut white wire
pin 30 to bcm side of cut wire
pin87 to pin 30 of 2nd relay
relay#2
oin 85 to ground when running
pin 86 to remote start crank output wire(car has no starter wire so this is only place this wire goes)
pin 87 put resistor and attach to uncut WHITE/ blk wire
pin 87a goes on output side of resistor ( so in escessance it is going straight to WHITE/ blk wire also)
pin 30 is attached to pin 87 of relay 1

So I'm putting in a Crimestopper CS-2016 in my Canyon. I also have a PLXR for the bypass... I'm looking at the wire codes from:
https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp?tid=32518
It says to goto the below link for the starter and ignition 2? Doesn't the PLXR make it so I do not need to use 2 relays to make a bypass? Where do I hook up the starter and ignition 2?

You are correct . You do not need any additional relays for this installation if you have the PLXR.
