I just noticed what you have for a car. That module probably won't control the doorlocks on your car, since they are not on the databus. You need to wire in relays and resistor

DEI calls "ground when running" either "status output" or (-) ignition output. I would use the blue "status output" wire. Definately don't use the factory alarm disarm wire. You need a wire that will hold ground the whole time the car is remote started.

It is a GMDL-BP, I think someone else posted it would save me time on the locks and trunk. bypasskit.com says it will.
I will hook it up and try.
There was no typo on my part, maybe the manual is a typo.
I am more concerned with the remote start, I can wire in relays later if needed.

Thanks, the directions are shady at best.
Especially if it is your first install.
Another thing is the power and ground wire for the GMDL-BP are on there own little 3 pin connector.
is that supposed to hook somewhere? i'm getting ready to chop it.
Thanks for your advice.

While everyone is looking at this thread.
Do i need to hookup the green starter-kill / Anti-grind wire from the Viper ?
If so does anyone know which wire on the ignition harness is the key side that it should be hooked to?
It is a real pain to get the wires in/out of the ignition switch, and almost impossible to probe them while connected to the switch.
According to the wire diagram from this site the dark green ignition harness wire is 2nd accessory, so it's not that one. I hope the wiring diagram is correct or I will have one heck of a problem when I hook the battery back up.
I'm not even sure I can get all the extra wires back through the hole.
Thanks.

I just hooked up the viper 5900 alarm and I cant get my bypass to program.
When i plug it in it flashes once, the instructions say to hold the program key for two seconds, wait for flash, and press again to change platforms, etc.
It does not do anything when i press and hold it for 2 seconds, but then a few times, the LED came on solid, as if it was out of programming mode. I dont know how I got it to come on solid, but it did.
Any thoughts?
The one page instruction sheet kind of sucks.
