I have never sent a car out or my garage that looks bad.  All wires are loomed and taped. No hack jobs here.

tbone587, We have experienced no problems with a 2003 model or just about any german vehicle that year. We recently picked up an Audi dealership and the vehicles they send us are typically 06-up. The A4's have been cooperative.

However, we have not been able to get a RS to work in the 06 and 07 A8's and Q7's. I don't really know at what point they changed but we have an opportunity to do alot of these but no luck in getting one to work. If you or anyone can shed some light that would be great.

We have looked into a company in Canada that claims they make a module that will work but it looks extremely confusing and when I called the company for tech assistance I got a voice mail in french, I only speak english. No one has yet to have a solution and I have been asking around for about 4 months now. We have tried the DEI module and a couple others with no success.

All the dealer really wants is for us to add RS capability to the factory keyless so we don't need to have a mod that does everything. Basically a way to control ign, acc and crank is all we need, I am sure bypassing the immobilizer should be simple enough using off the shelf parts.

dswift, thank you for the suggestions but ldatalink only has units for the Audi 4 series and FORTIN is the company from Canada I mentioned previosly. They seem to be the only company that even mentions the Q7, but not the A8's. I would be willing to try one in a Q7 if I can get an english to french translator so I can ask a tech there about some questions and to order one..lol

Unfortunatly for us at this point a google or website search does not offer much hope (some companies have the 2007 Audi Q7 on thier app. guide for the DEI CAN-1 but DEI themselves do not list it) so I am hoping to hear from someone that has actually got an RS working in either of these vehicles.

However, all help and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks again.

Fortin is located in Quebec and they do have english speaker techs but with a heavy french accent. We use iDatalink and Fortin peices at our shop and have had very good success with both companes. The CANSL series modules are a god sent !! You will need to loose a valet key for the INT-VW3 module that you get with the module ( a modified ignition barrel)

Velocity Motors, thanks for that info. Last time I called FORTIN I only was able get a voicemail which was in french. I will try to call again at a different time, perhaps a human will answer.

The ironic thing is one of the installers here can speak fluent french, however he wants nothing to do with my "adventurism" into attempting these vehicles. He is a very experienced installer but unlike myself is not from the "anything can be done for a price" school. I figure if I get one of those Audis working with a RS then I can give him an "I told you so" and show him how it's done. But if I am unsuccessful then he wins and I get the "I told you so".

Thats my situation. Thanks again for everyones help, I will keep posted any results.
