Hello all,
i am just curious to know, i have a 95 honda civic and i am upgrading the speakers.. and on the front door panel i have a tweeter( i believe 3/4, dont quote me on that) and a 6' 1/2 inch speaker.. I was wondering what would be a good component kit to use, and where is a good place to get one.. or is it better to not get a component kit?? i just trying to get a feel on what would sound better, btw its going to a 4 channel amp.
Thanks

Shop from one of the CDN dealers is a good place to start. In your Civic, a 6.5" standard size speaker is all that will fit without major modifications to the door panel. Most component type speakers are a 6.75" or oversize woofer and will not fit in this application. Alot of people use 5.25" oversize components in this car as well. What lengths are you willing to go to for installation?

I know I am going to take a hit on this but the brand of speakers are not nearly as important as the placement of them.  On that note I only run Focal Components and I run individual amps per pair of drivers so I only run one amp for the Highs, one for my Mids, and One for my Subs, this makes it easier to adjust my crossover points since I run a RANE AC23.

As close to being equal distance as possible to the driver and passenger.  Basically as far forward as possible, in my CRX as I used to compete in PRO SQ class I had the right and left stage about 5" off from either the passenger side or drivers side.  Try to aim them at the center of the rear window and go in the kicks.

Good brands (this is all opinion)

Focal, Dynaudio, Brax, McIntosh, Mb Quart.  Many others but those are my favorites in that order.

I think he means a place to get some high quality comps. And particularly what brands from that place are the better deal.

How many watts rms are you going to push to these? Model # of amp would be the best answer... Let us know and these guys can help you out better.
