OK....I have a customer who purchased an AVIC-N1.....He recently upgraded the software and as we all know now you cant watch DVDs while moving with the new software....

What I am trying to do for him is downgrade the unit...he said he tried resetting it by letting it sit unplugged overnight and it did not work...

I have googled for this and cant find any info....I am gonna contact Pioneer tues if I find no answer...If someone knows how to unload the software please let me know...I am not really familiar with this unit so any help is appreciated..

This guy has my cell phone number and I dont know how he got it and he is calling me freaking out wanting to know how to fix his prob...This pisses me off cuz I never give out my num and he is bothering me on a sunday night...Now I gota get my number changed...

To my knowledge, this must be sent out to pioneer to be done, according to my sheets at work. I suppose it actually changes the OS, making it check signal from the gyro and the parking brake wire, not just the brake wire.

How did he upgrade the software already? The upgrades are not supposed to be out until May/June.

I highly doubt Pioneer will help him because of this problem. Unless the unit is doing something it ISN'T supposed to do then he is SOL. Tell him to either buy another one that isn't upgraded or tell him to be legal.

I have no Idea....I am not familiar with this unit or anything about the upgrades...I couldnt get him to come to my shop today so I could look at the unit so I have no idea what his prob is...I didnt install it and I am wondering if it worked from the beginning...I am still steamed about him calling me at 10pm Sunday night....

As for everyone else...Thanx..I will let him know what I think as soon as I see him if I can keep my cool and not cuss him out..

Custom, I have the N2's in stock and ready to ship. What area are you in? As for the Bypass from Amp. I figure someone will make one for it since I think it was Bliztsafe that made an Alpine one.

Anyone have a web address for "Bliztsafe" or "Amp of America".

Thanks!
