Remote Start w/Aladdin

I see that you missed out the fact that you didn't engage the parking brake ?!? Page 11 at the top of the page ..... " The A-2000 checks to see that this is done everytime you turn off the vehicle " Also are the DIP switches in the correct positions ?

Also, did you hook up the PINK wire to the BLUE P6 harness for the ACC ?? This PINK wire has to see that the ACC is engaged other wise the system will not work or will run for 10 seconds or less and then automatically shut off.

Still doesn't work.  Apparently I had forgotten to wire the blue wire (since I thought I don't need it), but now it is wired

P6 Blue is now wired to Accessory (Yellow) with Pink now spliced into blue.  Before, the Yellow on the car was not wired at all.  I had a different input wire for pink before that seemed to work.

Any other suggestions???

Try this........... cut the BROWN loop on the side of the unit ( you will need to reconnect this wire for a manual vehicle ) and try to start the car without going through the sequence of exiting the car, pressing the brake, blah, blah, blah.........  If all connections are correct, the caar should start. If it does, then it's a sequence problem that you have and you may not be going through the proper sequence of exiting the car. Post your results.

I have one more guess at the source of the problem: the starter kill relay and wiring it...

If I wired the starter kill relay such that it was the last thing on the ignition circuit connected to the starter motor, then whenever the Aladdin is armed, the starter kill relay is disabled (ignition circuit is open and incomplete), as it should.  This also means that whenever I attempt a remote start, the starter kill relay is still disabled, while the Aladdin Starter Outputs are sending a signal to the starter, but the signal never gets there because the circuit is still open (from the relay).

Is this possible?  Is this how the aladdin functions?  Is this how remote starts with starter kills work in general?  I don't know if the aladdin closes the starter kill relay, thereby enabling the starter to start when a signal is given, or does it stay disabled?

Sorry if thats a bit confusing, and thanks for your help.  I can't test this just yet, maybe by tomorrow.  I haven't tested the 'psuedo - auto' mode yet, I would rather try this first (in case that may void my warranty).

Not confusing at all. I think you may be a little confused on the wiring of a starter disable + remote starter. The scenario that you outlined above would hold true if you were to connect the strter output wire from the RS to the keyside of the disable relay....but your not. You need to connect the starter wire on the motor side of the relay so that the RS bypasses the disable relay for RS operations. Hope this clarifies this for you and if it does not then I can email you a diagram of this circuit.

You need to hook up the STARTER wire from the Aladdin to the MOTOR SIDE of the starter relay. Your pictures shows that the starter wire connects in the middle, I'm not sure if that is what you wanted to show me.
