If you haven't yet, it might help your understanding to read Directed's tech tip 1041 on doorlock wiring types. Positive trigger in their terminology is Type A, 5-wire reversing is Type C.
The "switch side" of the wire will be the one that goes toward the master switch. See page 6 of the linked PDF for more details.
Also, blue/black and GREEN/ black go toward the MOTOR side.

last question and then if I can't get it done I will have it installed. When you speak of the "motor" side is that refered to as a motor in the door or the auto?

While being concerned about getting the remote to operate which it does, push lock once the doors lock parking lights flash, push lock twice the doors lock the parking lights flash and the horn beeps, hold the panic button down and the horn beeps for some time. I got in my truck today only to find it won't start, no click or anything, the radio will only work when the key is in the acc position, in the run position the radio does not work and if I try to lock the doors with the switch at the door they will not lock? Any thoughts?

Un-plug the unit and see if these features return...! Can you list your connections...? The truck is not starting with the key...? Is it a dead battery? Does it still lock with remote...?

I unpluged the unit, will not start and the radio will not play in the run position only the acc position. I do not have remote start key only, the batteries are a year old never a problem starting in the coldest weather. The remote works without fail?

It hasn't been mentioned, does the valet switch need to be plugged into the unti?
