Noticed you are running some MTX speakers. I'm running the TXC6.1 in the front powered by a Thunder 8502 and thinking of buying a single 9512-44. How do your 8500's sound? I have heard they are louder but not heard any real comparison between the 9500's and 8500's.

I love em. Im overpowering the crap out of them and they are just eating it up. I have them in a box built more for SQ so it doesnt get all that loud. I had them metered for SPL one day just cause the show I was at was free. They clocked in at 137.4DBs. Had I actually tuned the amp and deck for SPL Im sure I could have hit low to mid 140s. Im very happy with it though. As far as the speakers in the door panel goes, those are focal

Ya i knew the door speakers were Focal :) So have you had any experience with the 9500 series? I'm wondering if the 8500 would be just as good. I am currently running 2 10 inch memphis which hit really well but they don't go as low and I want my entire system to be MTX anyway.

i think the 9500s are not worth the money.  personally I wish I would ahve went with 4 7500 10"s instead of 2 8500 12"s. oh well.  if you did want to keep the subs you have Id recommend building a different box that will let you hit the lower tones. I have my box tuned to 41Hz but it still plays the 20hz range pretty well.

Ya, part of the problem is that I made a sealed box for them. I took them out of my truck and wanted to just make a quick box for the bug and sealed was the easiest. I know with a ported box I would be able to hit the lows better but I got lazy lol. Plus the fact I want all MTX so the 10's won't stay either way. So you don't think the 9500's are worth it huh? Your the second person I have actually heard say that. I might check more into the 8500's and see what I come up with. Thanks for the info!

When I got back from my deployment I had plenty of cash and had planned on buying 2 9500 12"s. After much deliberation, I decided to go with the 2 8500s and over power the crap out of them. it gave the the same result without spending the extra money and adding the extra weigt in the car. That is really the only "complaint" I have about the 8500s. you ahve to build a decent sized bullet proof box which weighs a ton plus the speakers weigh 50lbs a piece. I had to put spring spacers in my rear springs just to get the rear of the car to normal ride height.

Lol awesome :) Well at least I won't have to lower my car then since the box and speaker will most likely do it for me :) I'm guessing you made the box completely out of wood then? I'm going to make a custom fiberglass box so should be much lighter...as far as the box goes. Also I don't think I need 2 12's. The 2 10's hit far better then expected so I would imagine the single 12 will do as well or better. It's in a bug for crist sake lol. Much more boom and my window might go boom.

Aceracer24 don't go with 9500 or 8500's, go with the 7500's they are more effiecient and they have great SPL with less power and in sealbox, i'm very happy with them. i know i don't have any experience with the 8500's but when i went to buy the 8500 series 4 of them my MTX dealder told me not to go with them, to go with the 7500's so i was confused about that why in the H.. don't go with 8500???, so i went online and ask different people, so i came to an website of MTX in Europe where the guy there have experience with all MTX subs and he also told me the same, so now i have 4 7500, and they hit pretty damn hard. here's a pic of my current system, i'm still not finish, when i finish my car i'll post more pics of my system and car. Nice install aruman! I bet that does hit retty good. Does the MTX sticker give you added horsepower? lol just kiddin man.

Aceracer - Yes the box is made out of wood. When building a ported box it is easiest to make it out of wood with all right angles. If you use fiberglass and make the box with curves it becoes a lot more difficult to claculate airspace to use the right port. Honestly I think you would be happy with 1 10" sub in your car if its going to be in the car of the car.
