OOps, slip of the tongue, I meant the 5900 SST... Now I feel stupid, I've just fixed a 7900 so it was on my mind

I have used a couple different brands for myself in the past. Omega research, Avital, and Harada. I probably will use another Omega Research because they have internal relays unlike the DEI products with the relay pack that you need to find space for along with the brain. In theory the idea of an off board relay pack has it's advantages but also it has negatives as well. Just kinda makes a bigger bunch of wires to try to fit under dash and make neat even when you trim them down. The plus side it doesn't create heat near the main brain components inside module.
But with other units like the Omega, Micro Alarm and the old Valet start I never had an issue with that. I have had very good luck with the Omega remote units and only had a few returns over about 3 1/2 years and just a couple of the Micro Alarm remote starter units had to get replaced. The tech support of Micro was up to date and a tech was almost always available to help.
I guess when you install these you get to see which ones are more reliable, easier to install and which are more user friendly.
I will however install a Viper for my wife in a 2006 Kia Optima to see how well it works.

i would use the autopage rs1000 by far the best range and most features. with a simple install. on board relays and the remote has got to be the coolest remote available.
